AcoustiCafe Open Stage with host Zoob featuring When Particles Collide and Pape!
Doors/checkin at 6pm, 21+ signup at 7pm. No cover.
THEME: EVERYONE GIVE ZOOB TEN DOLLARS
Every so often, someone is clever enough to undermine the concept of a suggested theme so completely that you just have to go with it, because it's funny. As an alternate idea, Zoob suggested 'Songs about letting go... (of your ten dollars)'
Guitar-singer for Wreck Loose, songwriter/playwright/man-about-town Zoob is a long time contributor to AcoustiCafe as performer, host and house band - and now (as you can see in the cover picture) he is waiting patiently with his hand out for your 10 dollars, which you are under no obligation to provide.
Look for Zoob TONIGHT (Thu Dec 7) as musical director of WYEP's Holiday Hootenanny at the August Wilson Center o African American Cultural Center downtown!
WHEN PARTICLES COLLIDE
Once upon a time, Sasha Alcott of When Particles Collide was Zoob's chemistry teacher. Now she is a guitar rock hero touring as a duo with her husband Chris, grinding up the country with their pop/soul/metal mixture, or solution, or reagent. I bet they'd know the difference.
Catch When Particles Collide this Friday (Dec 8) with locals Old Game and The Park Plan for the rock event - When Particles Collide with Old Game & The Park Plan at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls
Just met him last Monday - the basketball coach from Senegal played just one wild song near the end of the night in the lightning round, and we wanted to get him on sooner this week to let him stretch out with more of his layered guitar, percussion and vocal looping coolness!
AcoustiCafe's open stage intends to create a supportive environment for artists to network with their peers, test new music or haul out old favorites and most importantly, extend their reach in the local scene.
PS Don't forget to 'Like' The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls and subscribe to events to keep up with all the cool stuff going on!
