The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce audition opportunities at the 2018 EQT Children's Theater Festival May 17-20 in the Cultural District! Available roles include Festival Guides and Courtiers in the Slingsby Theatre production of The Young King. You may audition for both opportunities, but due to scheduling, selected actors will only be cast in one role.
Seeking five actors (men and women of all ethnicities, 18+) to join the Festival Guide team, working as informational guides with a kid-friendly persona. Festival Guides help families navigate the Cultural District, plan their day at the EQT Children's Theater Festival, and provide memorable moments with families through fun interactions and play. Guides will be required to attend one 3-hour training workshop on May 6 from 1:00-4:00pm. Festival dates are May 17-20, 2018. Festival Guides will be required to work the following shifts: May 17, 8:30am-2:30pm and May 18-20, 9:00am-5:30pm.
Seeking four local actors (men and women of all ethnicities, 18+) to perform as Courtiers in Australian theater company Slingsby Theatre's production of The Young King at the EQT Children's Theater Festival in the Cultural District of downtown Pittsburgh. An ideal Courtier would have experience interacting with children and audiences in a theatrical setting, be able to perform dialogue from The Young King script and have the ability to improvise in the style of the show, and be able to genuinely connect and communicate with audience members in an intimate, direct setting. All actors must have full availability for May 16-20, 2018. A mandatory rehearsal with Slingsby Theatre will occur on May 16, 2018. Actors will perform in seven (7), seventy-five minute performances at the festival from May 17-20, 2018.
$400 for all required dates
