Lucky 7

This NYC-based quintet tours the club circuit, filling the dance floors with their rocking blend of Cajun, zydeco, blues and rock & roll. Relying primarily on the songwriting talents of their two singers, ex-Mink DeVille keyboard/accordion player Kenny Margolis and ex-Rockats guitarist Barry "BB" Ryan, Lucky 7 have also included a couple covers on their releases, notably Dylan's "Night After Night" and Canned Heat's "Going up the Country" (both on Feed the Snake). "Bandito" from that same release features ex-Mink DeVille percussionist "Bayou" Boris Kinberg on an instrumental reminiscent of Ennio Morricone's spaghetti-western themes for Sergio Leone films. ~ Dennis MacDonald, All Music Guide
