Scott Matthew

Graced with a melancholy, David Bowie-esque croon and a touch of theatricality in the vein of Antony and the Johnsons, alternative singer/songwriter Scott Matthew garnered some attention in the early 2000s thanks in large part to work on various high-profile soundtracks. Born in Australia, Matthew worked with a handful of bands before moving to Brooklyn, NY in the late '90s. Matthew's big break came in 2006, when four of his songs were prominently featured on the soundtrack of John Cameron Mitchell's award-winning film Shortbus. Those tracks, together with a passel of new songs, were included on Matthew's self-titled debut, which was released on the Defend Music label in 2008.
