Childbirth Education: The Complete Series

This comprehensive six-class series will help you feel informed, prepared, and ready for the birth of your baby with a natural approach . A wide array of physical and emotional comfort measures are covered, with plenty of practice time. You’ll receive information about medical options and procedures, including pain medications and cesarean birth, as well as how to write a birth plan. Tips and techniques for partner support are emphasized. One class includes a section on breastfeeding which is taught… Show more by a certified lactation consultant. There is also a visit by a pediatrician for a presentation about newborns. Classes are small and personal, chocked full of information but with plenty of time for questions and discussion. And they're fun!
Plan to finish the series 2-4 weeks before your due date. Classes are held weekly from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM for six weeks. Cost for all six classes is $140 per couple.
Dates for this series are: June 5th, June 12th, June 19th, June 26th, July 3rd, and July 10th. July 17th is reserved for a make-up day.

About the Instructor Kathy McGrath MSW, FACCE, CD (DONA) is an experienced childbirth educator, birth counselor, doula and doula trainer. She serves on the Certification Council of Lamaze International and is a past Board and faculty member of that organization. She was the winner of the prestigious Elizabeth Bing Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Childbirth Education in 2006.. Kathy was one of the first ten DONA-Certified doulas in the country. Kathy is happily married to Garry, her partner in every sense of the word, and the proud mother of 3 children.
