The Carnegie Library Of Pittsburgh is the city's public library system. It was begun in 1895 by industrialist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) as a reflection of his belief that the rich should use their wealth to benefit society.The downtown branch of has, along with general interest books, specialized departments. One of these is the Business Department, offering a deep and diverse collection of resources for business people on all levels.Another is a branch of the Foundation Center, which provides resources for on-profit organizations.
